I'm in the process of replacing the shifter arm and I'm wondering how it fits on the tube. Will the arm slide off as I pull the tube from the inside, or is the arm held in place somehow and needs to be disconnected prior to pulling on the tube?

Thanks.

So I got the shifter tube off. Seems the arm is being held in place by the steering shaft and won't come out. So the next question is how do I pull the steering shaft out so I can remove the arm.

I've recently disassembled my own steering column and have taken notes through the whole process. Call me at 774-283-3733 and I can tell you how to do it. If there is much interest, I can post my disassembly notes here but for one on one, it's easier to explain it verbally.
