I want to pull up the steering column so the horn will work. I loosened the screws and was able to get the horn to honk by pulling the column up. I noticed that that screws need to have more washers so as to tighten the column. I want to take the screws out and add washers however I read that I should NOT remove the #3 Phillips head screws .... only loosen them. Is that true or should I shop for metal shims to fill in the small gap that exists so that the column doesn't slide back down. If I remove the screws.... what will happen ?... not taking any chances...... 🙂
