Trying to figure out how the radio antenna mounted on the passenger side front fender is removed. Thanks for your help.

It's really pretty simple. I just replaced mine a few months ago. There are two notches in the chrome base you can grip with long nose pliers and unscrew it. It will then drop into the fender. CASCO has a plastic tool to remove and install it for about $7 if you are afraid of scratching it. Pull the lead out of the radio and attach a string or flexible wire to the end and pull the lead out through the fender. Attach the new antenna to the string or wire and pull the new lead back through the fire wall. Slip the antenna back up through the fender and re-secure.

Thanks, I had already gotten the collar nut off. Just could'nt figure out how to get the antenna from the inside of the fender. After fooling with it and removing the air vent assembly I was able to unscrew the lower nut that holds the coax onto the antenna and was able to remove the antenna assembly through an opening between the fender and the frame.

You went through much more work than needed. The antenna lead comes attached to the new antenna. No need to remove it. Just make sure you put a cord or wire on the old lead on the inside when you pull it through or you will have a devil of a time trying to thread the new one back through the firewall.
