1957 steering column bearing

Has anyone replaced a upper steering column bearing. I need help/advice.

I have replaced them. There is a sealed bearing style and one that uses an open bearing and a metal cone. Do you know which one you have?

I believe this is the sealed upper bearing. Does the hub and tube need to be separated to remove the bearing

If you have the single upper bearing, you will need to remove the column to get it out and replace it. it is a pretty big job. I have done it on two cars so for.

Thanks. After last post I realized the bearing could be removed without separating the hub and table. With a little taping with a rubber mallet the hub/tube assembly exposed the bearing. I removed the bearing and am no waiting for the replacement.
