Getting ready to pull rear axles on my 1957 Bird to replace seals. Seems like a pretty straight forward project. Any comments or suggestions from anyone who’s done this would be appreciated.
thanks
Roger

Changing the outer axle seals is an easy job. Before reinstalling the axle, polish the sealing surface with emery cloth and always install the seal in the axle tube with the open lip towards the inside.

Need a slide hammer or any sort of special puller to get the axel out after fasteners are removed??
Tks

I used a slide hammer. I may be wrong, but don't think you will be able to remove it any other way.
