1957 Oil pressure light on

After you repair the chafed harness, make sure that you install the harness clip that attaches to the starter solenoid so that it won't happen again.

There is also a clip that attaches the small engine harness to the cylinder head to protect the temperature sending unit wire from damage.

Thanks again. I do have the clip on the firewall but not the one for the temp sender. There was a lot of original equipment left off when I had the engine replaced over 30 years ago. I'll order that clip when I put in my next order to Casco. I think the harness got kinked when I had a new starter cable installed and that's what caused the chafing.

Oil pressure light on my 57 Tbird stays on even after disconneting wire to sender, ohm meter says no short in wiring, what keeps this light on?

Have you read through this thread?
The entire system has been explained and broke down into its simplest form.
This is not meant to insult but to not be repetitive
