1957 installing 16x7 wheels

1957, Has anyone put 16x7 wheels with 51/2 backspaceing on a '57? If so what was involved to make it happen

I think you might get tire to fender opening. These old t-Birds had very close tolerances for all that sort of stuff, so good luck.

I was thinking I would probably need a 1 or 2" wheel spacer to try to get the correct offset. then worried about inside fender well clearences. thanks for your response
