Has anyone done a conversion and if so, can it be done with brackets from generator and such?

I replaced mine with a Powermaster PowerGen Alternator and was able to use the stock brackets.
The alternator does not require the voltage regulator, In the above directions you bypass it. Decision, leave the voltage regulator in place, for the originality look or remove. I chose to leave it in place for the look and also not deal with the 3 mounting holes.
