Was the felt pad on the heater door on a '57 glued to the door, or did it just hang loose from the catch?

Mine is glued to the door

Thank you for the responses! The original was still on mine, but just hanging there. Can't see any evidence that it had been glued, but 64 year old glue tends to turn to dust. I'll glue the new one down.
