1957 carburator recommendations

Is there a reason you don't want to have it rebuilt? As to new....

There are 4 that hit the sweet spots. You can get two that are an almost exact match to the original, around 390 cfm. There are two others that are very close at 450 cfm but for less money. I have the 1848 one that's 465 and it runs great on my 312. It's an early version and has no PCV port. The current versions all have PCV ports on them. If I was buying a new one today I'd get the SL-460-VS on the right. I've seen several people post that they are using them and love them and it's the least expensive. If you want your car to be as close to "concurs" as possible, you would wan the 0-8007 in all chromate. It's currently listed as backordered. In my visits to the Holley website backorder means they will probably never have it again but you never know. The newer -1 version is a mostly shiny body.
