1956 torque converter drain plug location

Removed "Thunderbird" from subject. Not needed since we are a Thunderbird site.

Air cooled or liquid cooled??
Not familiar with air cooled units but on the water cooled trans. There is an inspiration plate on the bottom front of the tranny. Remove the plate and there are 2 small pipe plugs 180 degrees apart. Turn the converter till you find one. Remove that plug, turn the converter 180 degrees find and remove that plug. Hopefully you have a pan there to collect fluid that is now
draining out.
