1956 Tbird trunk color

What color was the bottom of the trunk(splatter gray, Black. car color) in 1956 Tbird. Thanks Jerry

The whole trunk was painted body color. A mat covered the floor

I concur. If it's going to be a show car, body color. The mats cover most of it anyway. After cleaning, it wouldn't hurt to spray it with Rust reformer spray which is usually black and then the factory mats. Some of the T-Bird suppliers have spray cans of original colors to top it off if you wish.

When I redid my trunk mat the underliner was the same color as the body, I wanted to keep the car as original as possible

The 55 birds had the black rubber mats also did the early 56's
