My '56 had the front disk conversion done before I bought it. My concern is the proximity of the dual circuit master cylinder to the exhaust manifold. It is less than 1/4". So far no problems but I did make a heat shield that attached to the original bottom shield and wrapped the manifold in that area but I hate the way it looks and have some concern over heat transfer to the fluid.. I have no idea what master cylinder was used in the conversion.

I also noted that the dip stick for the automatic transmission is very hot after the car has been run and I need to check the level. It is too hot to use my bare hands. Is this normal. Thanks.

Those are bolted in place using manifold bolts and come very near the manifold. I would expect some heat. Shouldn't affect trans temp.
