I am replacing the dash cover on my 56. What adhesive is recommended?

Thanks for the feedback. I wasn't sure if contact bond cement is the same as vinyl top adhesive. I'll ask at the auto parts store.

I also have the restoration manual and it's not clear to me how to apply the adhesive (brush or spray) and where to apply it (just the perimeter and openings or the entire surface).

Any help or suggestions is appreciated!
 
I went through this with my 55. My wife did a good job on the door apholstry but it started to come off after waiting to be put back on. I had my dash done at an apholstry shop. They said my problem was I did not use adhesive that was high temp. Check to make sure any adhesive you use is high temp and correct for dash.
I learned the hard way.
