1956 Brake Pedal eccentric

So I’m replacing the master cylinder and when I removed the old one I didn’t note how the eccentric was located in the brake peddle arm. Is there a particular way this eccentric should be set?

The picture below is self explanatory. Rotate the eccentric bolt to obtain 5/16" to 7/16" free travel.
