1955 weatherstrip installation product

I recently ordered the kit for my 55 hardtop that I recently purchased. I received the 56/57 kit called the supplier and they told me either kit would work/ I have read other posts that says the over the window weatherstrip will not work. Just looking for some other feed back. AI tells me the window will not seal and will shake and leak?

Regardless of the weather strip kit, These cars do leak.

The later model kit is supposed to seal better, but the side screw holes don’t line up. The added installation grief was worse than any leak issues, especially since I tend to avoid driving in the rain. The orig. ‘55 model could likely be made better with a little RTV in the right spots.
