Hello everybody, I've been on here looking around several times, but this is my first post.
I have a 1955 Thunderbird that has had some wiring issues, and I've fixed most of them.
I'm replacing the factory am radio since it doesn't work and the tuners also don't work.
In removing the radio I found two wires that are together, and each are the size on the antenna wire.
The car has been upgraded to a 12 volt system and each if these wires have 12 volts with the ignition in the off position. They run side by side, and go up the inside of the firewall to about the steering column area.
Does anyone here know what these are for?
They're cut, and marked left and right side.

Your title "1955 Ford Thunderbird wire issue." Has been revised. Since we are an all Ford Thunderbird site you can omit the make & model of your car. Also try to be more specific on the title for more responses.

What/where are they connected to?

I have no idea.
They're long enough to go to the center of the dash then go to the firewall and I don't see these same two wires coming through the firewall under the hood.
