Should the power supply wire to the directional switch be constant hot all the time , or should it be coming from a ignition switched leg.
Right now my directionals work all the time, car off , key out.

Since we are an all Thunderbird site, no need to add your car model to the subject. I edited it for you.

By directionals I am assuming you mean turn signal lights, is that correct? The turn signals should only be operational when the ignition is "on". This may have been re-wired to use as an emergency flasher as one possibility even though it would only flash for one side at a time. Looking at a wiring diagram for lighting should help in tracing the correct wiring path.

Thanks for your input. I agree with you 100%. Had to ask, being I have never seen a car that must be started in Neutral, until this one. Thanks again

The turn signal flasher is powered from the accessory terminal of the ignition switch. The wire is orange with a yellow tracer and there is a 15 amp inline fuse in the circuit.
