I have a power seat which needs new upholstery. How can it be removed without the removing the entire frame which is bolted to the floor pan? Thx

Easiest way is to remove it from the floor pan, frame is bolted to seat, but those nuts are very difficult to get to with the seat in the car

It’s been a long time, so I don’t remember the details, just that it wasn’t all that hard to do.
BTW: Since this was the second reupholstery job (vinyl come apart eventually if you drive a lot), I opted for leather. It was harder to instal, but holds up a lot better (needs more frequent care though). The new foam really was noticeable also (more upright driving posture).

I just did this. Seat is currently at bring redone. Only way to remove four bolts and take out the entire seat and frame. However be sure to take pictures of everything especially the power seat mechanism. Do not rely on memory

Back in the early 90s I remember taking out the seat with out the frame as I drove the car with short sand/beach chairs braced by the frame...I was much younger and more flexible back then!

Finally removed the seat and frame..what a chore! The seat rails are really binding and spent lots of time with white spray lube and realignment. Still not sliding smoothly...any suggestions?
