Buying 15x7 chrome wheels (seller says they fit) and want to use new tires that are much wider than the current 205/75/15 I have now. No skirts. Drum brakes. What wide tire size/s could I use?

This is not a question that can be answered by the Internet. Several factors come in to play here, first being the offset of the wheel. Ride height of the car. Your best bet is to go to you local tire shop with the wheels and see what will really fit under the car.

Ride height is stock 55 tbird. Maybe someone who is running 15x7 wheels with wider than 205/75/15 could let me know what they are running.

Diamondback publishes the width specs of their offerings. Different brands of the same size #s often have different widths. Skirts notwithstanding, differential centering & cornering body shift may be a limiting consideration. Re: height, I believe some ‘55 owners have gotten away with 215/75s (?).
