1955 Dip stick tube installation

It just slide into the block on the passenger side and there should be a tab to secure it by bolting it to the exhaust manifold. My tab broke years ago but the tube seems to be staying in with no problem.

Thanks There seemed to be some sealant on it when it came out maybe form a gasket
 
Before I inserted the dipstick tube into the block, I coated the end of the tube with a light coating of Permatex Form a Gasket. I'm sure that it's not necessary, but I figured it couldn't hurt.
