I am reupholstering a stock bench seat for my '55 daily driver. I like the look of the '55 design the best but I am wondering if the '57 without the bulge at the front would be more comfortable. Has anyone experienced the feel of all three years different designs? The foam sets are all different.

I have a 57 and it has the bulge in the middle. I reupholstered several years ago and find this seat to be very comfortable ( am 6" tall and 210 #). Logic would suggest that Ford would make the seats more, not less, comfortable as the model years progressed. I would guess that they are all similar since they are all 2-seaters.

Other than the logo, I don't think there's a difference. You probably won't ever have the level of comfort you're looking for, but it might be improved. If you spend a lot of time driving the car, you might consider installing a different seat/buckets, or learn to live with it.
