1977, c4 transmission no forward gears
So I just bought a 1977 thunderbird for $1200. Amazing deal. No rust, body damage, etc. The catch is that the c4 transmission has no forward gears, and the engine is in need of main bearings, rings, and maybe an oil pump (oil light is on at idle) but it does run right now. 1955 Ford-O-Matic shifts hard?
1955 Ford-O-Matic shifts hard to third and to second if I put her in first. Had tranny serviced, no difference. Is this normal for the Ford-O-Matic to shift hard even under slow acceleration? thanks- zeroroadkill

1955 3-speed pops out of second gear
My Thunderbird tries it's best to pop out of second gear into first, which is not good for first gear due to the grinding noise it makes. How does one go about fixing this and is this something you can do without sending it off to a transmission shop?- Marvarden79
