1957 Ford Thunderbird Restomod 6-Speed LS1-Powered

This 1957 Ford Thunderbird is a restomod that was built from the late 1990s to 2002 by Steve’s Restorations of Portland, Oregon. Power is from a 5.7-liter LS1 V8 paired with a six-speed manual transmission, and the body is finished in pearl blue over a customized blue interior. Handmade bumpers, a matching convertible top, a Kugel Komponents independent front end with rack and pinion steering, Corvette independent rear suspension, Wilwood brakes, staggered Boyd Coddington wheels, and a retrofitted HVAC system. The car received the Outstanding Interior Custom and Chip Foose Design Excellence awards at the 2003 Grand National Roadster show in addition to awards at several other events on the West Coast in the early 2000s. Update from user on BAT-This car was NOT built at Steve’s Restorations. It was built at Restorations and Reproductions in the mid 90’s. I know this because I did the bodywork and PJ Markovitch did all the fabrication. It was built for a guy named Paul Wilson and later sold to Tom Gloy. Every piece on this car has been exceptionally modified.

Well, She is a beauty, and those 55-57 Birds are wonderfully balanced. Since it was done with the LS engine all those years ago, well what's done is done. The support for the most recent Coyote 5.0's, and the larger modular engines means that these days it could be and should be a Ford swap. Kudos for keeping this Bird flying high by whatever means.
