I am trying to improve the suspension of my 1957 Thunderbird and am looking hard for some no longer in production adjustable Koni Shock Absorbers for this car. Apparently Koni had designed front and rear shocks for this car in the 1950s, but stopped production of them sometime in the early to mid-1970s. I'd be interested in any feedback or ride quality comments from TBird owners who have used these shocks. Ideally, I also would be willing to purchase a set of 4 shocks, some NOS (Ha! Ha!) or used, but rebuildable Koni front and rear shocks.
According to Koni, the old part numbers were 82 1008 and 82 1053 for the shocks, although I am not sure which part number was for the front or rear. Please reply to this forum or send me a private message with your contact information. Thanks very much!
