So I am out to get a new set of tires and wheels for my 1969 t-bird, but I got some questions. First is the tire. Can I go with 225/70 r15? I was looking at a set of Mickey Thompson and they have those.

Also I was looking at a set of BFGoodrich Radial T/A's size 235/70 R15

Now as for wheels I was looking as a set of Cragar

Which one should I pick here and will those tires (depending on which I pick) would fit?

Thanks for those finds. I'm also shopping for tires and possibly wheels for my 70 Bird. This tire size calculator may help you find the right matches. I'm not sure what width our factory wheels can take. Maybe not much more than a 70 series.

And it sounds like the T/A radials have a discoloring problem.

The tires don't look much different. The wheels are the problem. I need to know if they can fit. The Mickey Thompson wheel is what I am looking at. It has the right bolt pattern and wheel size. I just need to now if the width is alright

Okay so found a site that gives some insight.

This wheel fits my 1969 t-bird according to this information.

This wheel is the same bolt pattern with a very slight difference in offset. -22 over -19. So I am going to order one wheel and tire and have it mounted. then put it on the car and I'll let you know the results. Also both the wheel and tire are about $120 a piece. Not too bad.

I contacted Mickey Thompson and they were not sure if the wheel would fit. So I am going to contact Cragar and see how that fairs. The tire from Mickey Thompson will fit however.

Did you ever make a decision or find out more information? I am in the process of looking and would love to see what you went with.

Thanks
