ISO 1957 power steering dipstick

Anyone know where you can by just the dip stick for the ps pump? Mine fell off when checking the fluid and disappeared somewhere in the engine never to be seen again (and no it was no where on the garage floor ?).

Yesterday, I found that mine had fallen off as wellI used a magnet to retreive it, & found two in the bottom of the reservoir, so it must have also fallen off during the last ownership. Attached is a photo of the cap & two dipsticks - what would yank them off the cap? I'm also wondering where that attachment piece (maybe a rivet?) would wind up in the system, and what damage could it cause?

What you have there is all there is. There is no attachment rivet or anything else. Somehow your dipsticks have been bent making them open up and then fall off. The below photo shows how it's supposed to be. You can see near the middle of the photo the fine line of the cut of the side of the metal. Presumably when these are put together they bend them open slightly, hook them to the cap, and then bend them closed.

Dustymtn did you evacuate your ps pump reservoir or just use the magnet with the fluid in it?

I tried a magnet with the fluid in the reservoir and didn't find anything.
