Does anyone know how many rolled out of the factory in 1955 with the continental kit?
Was it available after market?

Thanks,

Jeff

Well, is there a way to know how many exist with the continental kit?
My Sales area code is HO - Ford Motor Company Transportation and Equipment Department. So that would fit the special request category.

The color code is A, Raven Black. But the car is most definitely Torch Red. Even under the dataplate! there are no traces of black body paint anywhere. So it looks like a factory repaint.

What do you think?

Although quite rare, a rear mounted spare tire kit had been available for the 1955 models. The cost to the dealer was about $110.00, and only a rare few were ordered.

See the attached article from; "Thunderbird, and illustrated history of the Ford T-Bird" by Ray Miller.

Considering that the factory invoice is not available for most 1955 models, I don't see how your question can be accurately answered.
