I put a 700R4 automatic overdrive in my C3 vette for gas mileage and better highway driving, has anyone done this with their older bird, if so what trans did you use ?

Not sure what engine you have but, an AOD, AODE, and 4R70W are all compatible options. The latter two require an electronic trans controller and the AOD a Throttle Valve cable. Monster Transmissions will be able to answer questions, just give them a call.
