66 shock problem

anyone have problem with installing monroe shocks on the front of 66 bird the shaft is bigger than oe so the compression bumper will not fit

Did you find a solution? We’re trying to fit original replacement front shocks on a 65 but the thread seems too short

the monroe shocks have a bigger shaft i just enlarged the hole in the bumper bushing
