63 convertible deck lid won’t raise. Locks work. Any help to raise the lid electricity as is factory would be appreciated.

One of the limit switches does not have contact.
On mine (61) it was the one in the passenger side front.
We were able to reach it going through the wheelwell.
We remade the switch contacts with heavier strap, and adjustable.
I had all the limit switches rebuilt by Birds Nest in Oregon

I just got my 64 back from a “tbird specialists” place and mine did that. I took out the back seat and wiggled wires on the relays and got it working. They cut off ALL of my factory plugs and put on individual slide on connectors!!
They were loose and I took pliers and tightened them up and been working great since.
Might try that and see it something is loose if not its a limit switch.

If you have a Shop Manual, there is an emergency procedure to “manually” open the rear deck. (So you can get inside to check switches and relays). In each rear wheel well there is a bolt that has to be removed, and four bolts at the very rear of the trunk/spare tire well that have to be removed. Then you can manually lift the deck. Get help as it is heavy.

Thank you. Yes I found the problem. I did have to unbolt the rear cylinder us to raise the lid. The locks were working so I was able to unlock the lid. However it would not raise. Once in the backseat I was able to wiggle around some of the relay boots and sure enough one was loose. I’m contemplating whether I should cut the boots off and put solid connectors on. I’ve seen others do that and they seem to have better success than the factory rubber boots. What do you guys think about that.
