1984 Hood Latch Release

The hood release no longer returns to normal after using it; I must push it back to normal by hand. Then it latches OK. I'm handicapped enough to not be able to look for the spring that's not working. Anyone know where the spring is located? In the cab? At the hood? TIA, EleganT Owner.
