I'm in the middle of replacing my steering coupler. I've got it all assembled except where the U-joint connects to the steering wheel end. I took the steering wheel off and tried tapping downwards in order to ease the tight connection. However, with every tap downwards, the column shrunk and got further from the firewall. Any Idea why or what to do? Thanks!
