I decided to convert my 77 A/C from R-12 to R-134a, I’m wondering if anyone else did so without swapping the compressor?

Haven't done mine yet,but have been told that you have to replace all of the hoses

I did the A/C in my 88 Thunderbird back in 2005 & I didn’t have a problem after changing the oil, It excepted that 134 & worked very well, As a matter of fact, Since that car is parked right next to the 77, I might just vacuum it down, Leak test & Then charge him just to make s re it’s working before I get him road ready.
