is there a special tool for reassembling the hood top turn signal lights on the 1966 Flare model? I needed to replace bulbs and was able to unscrew the ring that holds everything in with some WD40 and a needle nose plier, but I can't get the assembly (bulb, bulb socket, spring) back together. It has to be compressed and screwed in a the same time. Is there a tool or a suggestion for getting it in?

That sounds frustrating.
Maybe find a wooden dowel that is about the same diameter as the ring that holds the lens in place. It might let you press the whole assembly against the spring and keep it nice and square to the body. If it had something sticky on it, it might let you rotate the ring enough to have it engage the threads, and then you could finish driving it in with your needle nose pliers.

You can purchase tubing for assisting with spark plug installation. They are thick walled, medium firmed plastic about a foot long. Great for holding small bulbs whilst you re-install them. Note: THICK walled (not hard) tubing. Find something the right diameter and you'll get it done.

I made this from a piece of bracket and it worked well:

Thank you - this dawned on me as the only way to do the job. I don't have a bench grinder - could you make a copy for me? I'd be glad to pay a reasonable cost for your time and mailing
