1965 brake caliper installation

I bought a set of brake calipers, they were a 1 piece caliper, when i removed the drivers side caliper from the front of my 65 Thunderbird, the outside cylinders came off , leaving the inside cylinders still connected, i cannot figure out how to remove it without removing some of the steering components, the caliper comes in 2 parts

It will be bolted (2 bolts) to the spindle from the back side.

Big, will the single piece work going back ?

If you “split” the caliper (pistons in both halves?) it will go back together but may require “0 rings”. Then will have to be bled.
