1964 replacing vacuum booster

Putting in new booster. My questions is: After disconnecting the single-pot master brake cylinder from the booster, can you get the booster out without totally removing the master cylinder from it's brake lines? Is there enough room and "give" to back the master cylinder off the booster and pull the booster out? Thanks for any advice. BobP

If original brake lines it would be very difficult to not break one if you try to pull it out far enough to remove booster

This might be the time to put in a dual master cylinder if you haven't already.
 
Thank you for responding. I'm thinking that I'm just going to pay my mechanic to replace it and not worry about me doing it myself.
