I recently removed my 1963 convertible sunvisors and had them refurbished. They look 100%.
However, they keep falling down. Any suggestions on what to use to tighten the visors to the rods?

Not sure how they attach but on vintage Corvettes squeezing the channels where the visor rods rest CAREFULLY is one method and some actually made thin shim tubing to cover over the rods - it's all about friction.

I tried a 3 inch piece of heat shrink but the visor would not slide over it. The rod itself has some gunk on it from previous owners attempts.
Out of frustration, I wedged a toothpick into the visor opening by the bracket. So far, so good.. But I don't think this is a long-term fix.

These is how I fixed mine on the 57 , I took shrink tube in black and shrunk it over the end arm , looks factory and works perfectly

I tried a shrink tube and I heated it for between five and 10 minutes with my wife's high temperature hairdryer, but it never melted enough to allow the visor to go over it.

?? Yes hello

Take the rod out. Get two lengths (12”) stranded electrical wire. Strip 2.5” off the four ends. Clip one wire to the negative side of a charged 12v battery. Clip one wire to the positive side of battery. Clip the negative end of - wire to the rod. Frey one end of the positive stranded wire. Daube the frayed end of the + wire to the rod. Evenely distribute the “pimples” on the rod. Add as many as it takes to make the rod tight in the channel. Wala!
