Hello Folks,

I'm replacing the shifter detent plate and I've noticed that a previous owner used a hardware-store (1" thick) nut to secure the steering wheel to the column. I'd like to replace it with the correct (thinner) nut, but the only nuts I can find online are for 64-66 Tbirds (5/8"-18). Do the earlier Birds use a different thread size? If so, what is it? If not, can I just use the later model nut?

Thanks in advance.

Nuts! 😉

I got one from a local Ford guy. Still not sure what the thread size is, but it works.
