1962 grille esthetics vs 1961 & 1963

The 1962 grille (versus the 61 or 63) seems esthetically so much better in looks, does anyone know why the 61 and 63 look so much alike, yet the 62 is quite different (and more pleasing in looks - Is that just me, or ?). Anway, wondered how the evolution of the grill occurred 61-63 . . . .
