Please just confirm for me that the top
Switch is pressed Down to lower the top into the trunk. When I press down on the switch the lock motor runs but seems to maybe be just spinning the nuts or ?. Top is Up so pressing Up on the switch doesn’t do a thing in this position. Car has been in long term storage so thinking maybe needs lube once I get it opened up.

While repairing, consider modernizing your relays-

Thanks, will be purchasing the updated relays asap. Thanks for the help!

I haven’t gotten back at
It yet so not yet. She isn’t going out topless anytime soon until weather cooperates anyway!

No, take out the back seat and use a jumper cable to activate the relays for each process. The Birds Nest in West Linn Oregon has the convertible top manual to do this.

If the screws are turning and the trunk lid is not going up but you hear the screws turning, You are low on fluid in your pump or a broken line or faulty pump motor. , the pump, can you hear the pump working? You can have someone lift on the trunk lid right by the screws and lift up as you turn the screws by pushing the button. One person on each side right by the screws. Dont be rough with it. If this does not work, Under the wheel wells in the rear there are one nut in each wheel well, You will see the nut in there by the top of the wheel wall. the nut is to disconnect the screws all together and you can force the lid open by hand by lifting the trunk lid one person on each side of the lid where the screws are and lift, The lid will come up and thats when you can access the Pump located passenger side behind the cover. Make sure the pump is working , two wires to hook and test, they burn up after time, no big deal. easy to replace, not real cheap but easy. If the motor works, Take the screw out of the top of the pump and fill with ATF type F , put the screw back and run the motor to get air out and refill again and get the air out again. Check your limit switches, there are several. Put the two screws for the trunk lid back in place and put the nuts back on under the firewall. The relays cost 50.00 each so 8 are 400.00. You can buy electronic relay for 600. And solve problems for ever. I used that one and its been fantastic. If you need more info let me know. I can send you a diagram of jumping those old relays but they can be trouble so replace if you can with electronic. Get back to me if you need other info to help.
