Where is the engine block Serial Number located? I have a 1961 Thunderbird, but sometime in the past the engine was replaced with a newer 390 V8. I want to know the exact year of the engine.

Look on the sides of the block for the engineering number (example C4 AE)
The actual date code should be near the oil filter on the oil pan rail.
Your '61 should also have a 2bolt motor mount pattern.
They changed to 4 bolt in '64.
