After struggling to repair my 4160 Holley, I am about convinced that I might be better off replacing it. The Holley Street Warrior 600 CFM looks like it would work quite nicely. Would like to have input from those who might have gone that route. Would be great to find out if anyone went the lower cost route with the Chinese clones sold on Amazon and other places. Always risky with the clones but Amazon has a pretty generous return policy for non working items.

I have a 1956 but with a 57 intake and I bought a Holley 1848-2 (electric choke) which is a 465 CFM and to me it works great.

Personally I would go with an edelbrock. I had nothing but problems with Holley rebuilds, And I would stay far away from Chinese stuff. I went through 3 fuel pumps and they all failed in hours.

I have the 1848 and it works fine but new ones are pricey. This Quick Fuel 450 has been used with good reviews. Very similar and about half the price.

I also grabbed a Holley 1848 (new, not rebuilt) and it seems to work great. As others have mentioned, it's pricey, $600 bucks or more depending on your source. I didn't know the Chinese were duplicating Holley carbs, but I tried one of their Autolite/Motorcraft clones. It's a beautiful copy and looks fantastic... BUT the power valve, then the accelerator pump diaphragm, failed almost immediately. So now I can't trust the thing to not blow up or something. It's really a shame considering genuine new Autolites are long out of circulation; why'd they go through all the hassle of tooling-up an entire carb (so exact that many original parts can be swapped), then just throw useless components in there and ruin the whole thing?
