How do I stop the water from getting in between the door (just below the windscreen) and the body. I have a dog leg seal fitted.

water will get in that area. You need the dog leg seal and make sure that the hole punched in that area is open. The seal is supposed to allow water to gather in that area then go into the door and out the drain holes at the bottom.

I don't know if this will help you, but here are two Product Service Letters that addresses water leaks on the 1955 and 1956 Thunderbirds.
