1957 both windows cracked

After much trial and error I finally got the power windows both wired and working properly. Only to find the driver side window cracked the next day. The passenger side remained down all summer. I never needed it up in the fall I put top up and the passenger window got raised. The next mourning it was cracked. Anyone have this happen any thoughts to cause?
