1957 263G32 stamped on engine block

I was replacing the valley pan cover gasket on my 312CI engine yesterday and in cleaning the gasket surfaces on the block, I found the following number on the front of engine by the timing chain cover 263G32 (see attached picture), never saw a number like that one before. Any ideas as to what it references or means?

I think that’s the location for the final inspection stamp? I do not know how to decode it. Mine looks like 1 77-TU
