Is there supposed to be seal or gasket between the headlamp door and the fender on a 1956 T-Bird? It appears there should be, but I can't locate a replacement.
Larry in Michigan

Larry, I lived through the years of these older cars, and I have never seen a gasket in that location. Since the bulb is sealed, there is no need for a gasket behind the "eyebrow". I also have a '56, and there is nothing there.

Mine as this seal behind the eyebrow. When it's removed, the eyebrow is sloppy and will not tighen up..

Puzzling. Custom made gasket, maybe? Sometimes bodywork or replacement part won’t allow a tight fit. Is there a twin gasket on the other fender? If so, does it look like a specially production manufactured part?
