1955 USA vs European UK versions

My first T-Bird I purchased was a 1955 over 30 years ago, It had a speedometer that went up to 250 Never noticed anything unusual until i sold it and bought a 1956, found out it was a European in kilometers, but haven't found a lot of information on euro cars and never have even seen photo of plates on internet, what does anyone know about euro cars? How many built etc. it also has electric seats and windows.
