I have an 04 with tan or sand interior, but the steering wheel leather and the shift knob are looking worn. Sources for replacement or is Ford the best bet?

I would think that Ford would be the best. But then it may also mean replacing the steering wheel and knob.

JPS,
I too have the same sand interior on a 2005 Bronze TB. I went to the website http://www.colorplus.com/ and ordered the Lexus 4201 Ivory (matte finish). It is identical to the Thunderbirds sand color. I ordered a 1/2 pint at $34.50. I took some 500 grit sand paper and prepared the entire steering wheel. Then followed the instructions for application.

See attached Images so you can judge for yourself.
