2002 rear-end hops in reverse under a load

What causes the rear end to hop in reverse when backing up a hill or jumping a lip in the cement? Works fine in forward.

If this car has disc brakes in the rear check the parking brake.

Did you inspect the suspension for:

Loose or damaged front and rear suspension components?
Loose, damaged or missing suspension fasteners?
Damaged or sagging springs?
Damaged or leaking shock absorbers?
Worn or damaged suspension bushings?
